Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip – Thou Shalt Always Kill

The debut single from hotly tipped producer Dan Le Sac and rapper extraordinaire Scroobius Pip. The song comprises a simple electronic dance beat with the vocals taking the form of a satirical rant at aspects of British modern culture. The pivotal message is to “think for yourselves” rather than to follow current trends or get caught up in hype. The title, and final line of the song, refer to ‘killing’ in the sense of performing excellently.

The song was named NME’s track of the week in one of its April 2007 issues. Ironically, one of the lyrics is “Thou Shalt Not Read NME”. The track was released for digital download on 1st April 2007 and on CD 8th April, reaching #30 in the UK charts.
