Lifelike

Laurent Heinrich, better known as Lifelike is a house music producer from Strasbourg, France.

He started to release house music records in the late 90’s under the pseudonym of “Ferris Bueller“. From 1999 till 2000 he released 4 records under this name on Pliable Records.

His first record as LifelikeThe Soul of My Love” was released in 2001 on the Parisian label 20000ST and featured samples from New York soul singer Mandel Turner. The single was reaching fifth place on the French dance chart with support by Parisian Radio FG and DJs including Alex Gopher and Thomas Bangalter from Daft Punk.  Next released as Lifelike included “The Cult” EP in 2002, “My Precious Diamond”, “Adventure” and colloboration with Roman Salzger “Regina EP” in 2003.

After remixing artists such as Demon and Sébastien Léger, Heinrich met up with producer and labelowner Kris Menace and released the “Running Out” on Menace’s Work It Baby label in the beginning of 2005. Later, Lifelike and Kris Menace released together the track “Discopolis” on Vulture Music, a label owned by another famous French DJ and producer Alan Braxe.

Discopolis” became a huge worldwide hit and entered the UK chart topping position 18 in Summer 2005. It was re-released in 2006 on Defected Records with impressive music video from Seb Janiak and new remixes by Alan Braxe, Chris Lake and Kerri Chandler.

After “Discopolis” Lifelike released another single with Kris Menace “I Feel Music In Your Hear” in 2006 and his own “So Electric” on Wall Of Sound in 2007. He also made a huge amount of remixes on such artists as Sebastien Leger, Joachim Garraud, Annie,  Shapeshifters, Sia, Dimitri From Paris, Sneaky Sound System, Chromeo, Van She, Cazals, Treasure Fingers, The Presets and Does It Offend You, Yeah. Latest remix from Lifelike is on La Roux second single “In For The Kill“.

In Feabruary 2009 Lifelike released another successful double record “Sunset / Sequencer” on Vulture label. “Sunset” has been co-written/produced with Alan Braxe and features a vocal performance from the Swedish singer Yota. She recently worked with such artists as Zoo Brazil, John Dahlback, Laid, Sunblock, Stonebridge, Martin Venetjoki, DJ DLG & Redroche.

“Sunset / Sequencer” was released on 24th of February on the 12″ vinyl and 2/3th of March on Beatport.
