Swing Zazou

Swing Zazou is Electro Swing dance band which collide vintage 30’s & 40’s big band and Gypsy Swing with live-mixed beats – a foot-stomping recipe of soaring hot-swingin’ licks, driving swing-scat vocals, and vintage harmonies that creates the fully-charged and irresistible sound of live Electro Swing. Expect to hear a kicking up-tempo live show with a full clarinet-led live band of trumpet, violin, helicon, guitar, double-bass, drums and live-mixed beats.

From the original Electro Swing tunes to covers of back-in-the day classics such as “It Ain’t Right“, “Don’t Fall Asleep” and “Diga Diga Doo“, Swing Zazou creates a modern Swing party to wear out the soles of your spats!

Swing Zazou emerged onto the UK festival scene in 2009 with their first public gigs at Lovebox Festival (London), the Glade Festival, and the London Electro Swing Club New Year’s Eve special. Since then they’ve played at the London Freakeasy, White Mink at the Brighton Festival, Arcadia, Carnage, Snakepit and Club DaDa at Glastonbury Festival, Arnold Circus Picnic 100, and Centre Camp and Small World at the Secret Garden Party.

They’re currently working on their debut album with a single due for release in December 2010. I found this amazing band on recent (19.11.2010) Rob Da BankElectro Swing Special” show at Radio 1 where they presented two new tracks “It Ain’t Right” and “Wideboy“. Check also other presented Electro Swing artists – The Movits, Correspondents and especially DJ Switch.
