Sneaky Sound System

Sneaky Sound System is a Sydney-based Australian dance music group consisting of Black Angus (Angus McDonald) (chief songwriter and producer), MC Double D (Daimon Downey), Connie Mitchell (vocals), Peter Dolso (guitar), Jono Sloan (bass), and Felix Bloxsom (drums).

In 2004, Black Angus and MC Double D decided to start their own record label, Whack Recordings. After hooking up with recording engineer/producer Peter Dolso, the band set up a studio in Bondi Beach called “The House of Whack”, and set about making its own music. Sneaky Sound System’s first release was “Hip Hip Hooray“, which quickly gained support from local DJs and radio stations alike, becoming a cult hit.

Sneaky Sound System released their self-titled debut album on August 12, 2006 and it received two ARIA Awards in 2007 for Best Dance Release and Breakthrough Artist – Album. This album gave 6 singles – “Hip Hip Hooray”, “Tease Me”, “I Love It”, “Pictures”, “UFO” and “Goodbye”.

The album’s third single “I Love It” (released on July 8, 2006) broke the record as the longest (70 weeks) charting single on the Australian ARIA charts peaking at number twenty-four. The fifth single from the album, “UFO“, peaked at #11 on the ARIA Singles Chart is currently their highest single peak.

On August 16, 2008 they released their second album “2” which made its debut at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart, becoming their first number one album in Australia. On 8 June, Sneaky Sound System’s first single “Kansas City” from this album debuted at number 11 on the Aria club chart. Second single “”When We Were Young” was released in November 15, 2008 with remixes from Sinden, Breakbot, Gloves and Juan Maclean. The third single “16” was released on February 14, 2009 and was remixed by Tv Rock & Luke Chable, Tommie Sunshine, Donnie Sloan and Flight Facilities.

“I Love It“, the third single from first album “Sneaky Sound System” will be re-released on March 16 with new remixes from Fred Falke (which is played massively by Pete Tong), Kenny Hayes, Beni, Clubstar plus old remixes from Riot in Belgium and Bag Raiders.
